HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Mirror Sahure is inspired by a Hadrianic-period column (ca. 117–138 CE) belonging to the Roman composite order, in which the volutes of the Ionic order are at the top and rows of acanthus fronds of the Corinthian order are below. This combination, along with the narrow vertical fluting of the column, lends a graceful and delicate appearance. Celebrating this timeless elegance, our design reflects the artistic legacy preserved by The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
